What to Expect After a Rodent Service:
1. INCREASED ACTIVITY (First 2–3 Days)
You may notice an uptick in mouse activity as they feed on the bait. This is a positive sign—it means the bait is working.
2. TIMELINE OF RESULTS
2 Weeks: You should no longer hear sounds or find new droppings.
4 Weeks: The infestation should be fully resolved.
Note: In cases of heavy infestations, these timelines may extend slightly.
3. 1st GEN. MICE vs. 2nd GEN. MICE
1st Generation Mice (born outside your home): Typically consume bait, feel unwell, and leave your home to return to their nest within 3 days.
2nd Generation Mice (born inside your home): Their nest is within your home, so they are more likely to expire indoors, often in the attic where odors are less noticeable. Occasionally, there may be a smell in other areas—what I like to call the "Smell of Success," indicating the treatment is effective.
4. Ongoing Mouse Activity
It’s common for new mice to attempt entry into your home over the coming months.
What Happens: You may hear activity for 1–2 days as they sample the bait and feel unwell. By day 3, they will be gone from your home.
What to Do: I’ve placed enough bait to manage activity for the next 6 months. If you continue to hear activity beyond 3 days, please contact me so I can address it promptly.
5. Cleaning & Prevention
Clean Up Droppings: Disinfect areas where droppings or signs of mice were present.
Eliminate Food Sources: dirty dishes in sink, food on counters, candy wrappers or snack remnants in bedrooms, bird feeders or spilled seed in the yard, and pet food stored in the pantry, garage, or basement.
